How to Fall Asleep Using the Brain

Oxygen Flow Improves Sleep

Do you ever have trouble understanding how to fall asleep or maintaining sleep? Have you ever participated in a sleep study or considered one? In my book, Drop: Making Great Decisions, I present methods on how to fall asleep which maximize oxygen flow to your brain. The book offers three techniques for producing enough oxygen flow to your brain to kick in the natural chemicals necessary to fall asleep.

REM Sleep

The book also cautions that using alcohol or drugs to fall asleep will not provide REM or restorative sleep. Why is that an issue? If you don’t get enough REM or restorative sleep, your brain doesn’t have the opportunity to use the brilliant methods it employs in processing how to fall asleep. Without REM, the brain does not resolve feelings while dreaming.

Resolving Feelings

The brain processes facts and details in unusual ways during dreaming, directing you towards feelings you’ve avoided or neglected during your waking hours. If you wake up from a dream, avoid decoding it. Instead focus on the feelings it persistently provokes. Another benefit of maximum oxygen flow to your brain is learning how to fall asleep and stay asleep by achieving REM activity. You are waking up in the morning refreshed because your brain has also resolved feelings that were not relieved during your waking hours.

Stop Overthinking

Overthinking reduces oxygen flow to the brain. It inhibits dream activity which is the reason you’re having difficulty in knowing how to fall asleep in the first place. If you haven’t resolved the emotions you had during your waking hours, all you’re doing is overthinking, worrying, or predicting. Instead of overthinking at night, shift and use one of the three techniques outlined on my website, www.helenmckibben.com. Learn how to fall asleep and kick in the brain’s method of resolving feelings through dreams.
